Attendees: William Aguilar, David DeMauro, Lorraine Frost, Paul Vicknair, Dale West
Audit Update
- Three CSU campuses were selected for the audit: Sonoma, Fresno, and Long Beach. A fourth campus will be selected.
- The CSU system is very committed to the CMS project.
HR Status
- The second pass begins this week
- An version 8 environment is being created to be tested
- Takes a week to go through data conversion
- It is intended to cut over on October 29th
- Position numbers will be on employee records
- A department has to go to Budget to get a position number before they can begin hiring, the HR Account code will be tied to the position number.
- Suggestion: Need to make sure departments are reconciling accounts. A small group should be put together to make sure this is being done. If this is done then there should not be a problem during year-end closing. Lorraine Frost and Dale West shall work together to come up with a mechanism for creating a checks & balance system associated with reconciling accounts.
- It is predicted that all CSU campuses will go live in September 2006
Data Warehouse
- Denham Johnson asked our campus to participate in the production of a data warehouse based on the SLO model.
- This would involve the building of an HR data warehouse, which would allow reporting that PeopleSoft does not.
- This would begin around November 1, 2002, after the cutover.
- One major deliverable of our participation is that individual departments will have access to their own information.
- Data warehousing will flatten the information as opposed to queries using multiple table joins.
- The data will be updated nightly.
- Suggestion: There is a need to get a position control module back in place. This should be top priority.
Finance Status
- Closed books for the second time
- Muriel Vita is attending Prototyping
Student Administration Status
- Lorraine Frost still needs to put in the timeline change to CMS Admin.
- Lorraine Frost and Sheryl Pytlak shall get together to make a project plan for Cashnet
- One issue with Cashnet has to deal with credit card fees
Patrick Murray, IO Consultant, shall be scheduled for the next meeting to indicate how our progress compares to the project plan.
CMS will be showcasing how to use PeopleSoft on the web at the IRT Technology Day. It was suggested that CMS also demonstrate use of queries and showcase PeopleSoft Version 8.
Lorraine Frost is to take a look at introducing Foundation to PeopleSoft.
It was suggested that CMS look at which positions critically need back up support. Back up should be two to three deep just in case of a loss.
